About The Position

The Security Officer 2 is responsible for the general safety and security of the CME facility, staff, members, and visitors. The role enforces access-control policies, patrols the facility, and staffs the Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) as needed to maintain a secure environment.

The position requires availability from 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM and weekend work, with two days off scheduled during the week.

Requirements

• Experience working as a security officer.
• Proficiency with security systems, specifically Genetec, Vanderbilt, and Digital Camera Recording Software.
• Ability to learn and operate GSOC controls and procedures.
• Written and verbal communication competence for reporting and radio usage.
• Availability to work from 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM.
• Availability to work weekends; two days off will be scheduled during the week.

Responsibilities

• Monitor turnstiles and verify identification for personnel entering the lobby or trading floor to ensure authorized access.
• Scan incoming packages and parcels using E-scan technology to prevent prohibited items from entering the facility.
• Patrol office areas, trading floors, and the building perimeter on foot to check for security issues and challenge unauthorized individuals.
• Enforce Rule 513 regarding conduct and badging policies, using discretion to resolve minor confrontations professionally.
• Respond to medical emergencies and alarms, assist with building evacuations, and follow standard safety procedures.
• Operate GSOC systems, including CCTV cameras and radio dispatch, and accurately record activities in the shift log.
• Conduct preliminary investigations of security incidents and write clear, accurate incident reports in a timely manner.
