About The Position

The Security Mail Attendant / Courier is responsible for the secure, accurate, and same-day delivery of all incoming mail, packages, and freight across the property. This role supports logistics, guest services, and security operations by ensuring timely distribution, maintaining chain-of-custody accountability, and assisting with security dispatch functions during low-volume periods. The position requires forklift operation, strong organizational control, and the ability to transition between logistical and security responsibilities as needed.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required
Valid driver’s license (minimum 3 years, acceptable driving record)
Forklift certification required (or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe)
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Ability to prioritize workload to meet same-day delivery requirements
Basic computer and log-tracking proficiency
Strong communication and customer service skills
Ability to multitask between logistics and security functions
Sound judgment and situational awareness
Regular lifting of 30 lbs
Frequent lifting of 50 lbs
Occasional lifting of up to 100 lbs (with assistance)
Walking, standing, bending, and operating equipment for extended periods

Responsibilities

Ensure 100% same-day delivery of all incoming mail and packages to departments, tenants, and guests unless operationally restricted or otherwise directed by management.
Receive, inspect, and log all incoming shipments with accuracy, including: Date/time received, Carrier, Number of items, Recipient name and department, Staff member receiving.
Sort and stage deliveries for efficient routing throughout the property.
Coordinate directly with departments and HarborWalk Village tenants for delivery or pickup as appropriate.
Maintain strict chain-of-custody accountability for all packages, especially high-value or sensitive items.
Deliver packages across the property in a timely, professional manner, maintaining guest service standards.
Operate company vehicles or carts safely when performing courier duties (if applicable).
Utilize a forklift to move pallets, bulk shipments, and heavy freight safely and efficiently.
Ensure all deliveries are completed before the end of each shift unless otherwise documented and approved.
Verify outgoing packages are properly labeled and prepared by the sender.
Coordinate with carriers (FedEx, UPS, USPS, etc.) to ensure timely pickup.
Process return shipments by marking “Return to Sender” and communicating with carriers.
Manage shipment of lost and found items to guests, including: Contacting guests via phone/email, Verifying ownership, Coordinating shipping details and documentation.
Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked mail room and receiving area at all times.
Monitor and restock supplies (labels, tape, forms, packaging materials).
Ensure all equipment (including forklift and carts) is maintained and reported if damaged or unsafe.
During low-volume periods, assist in staffing the Security Office as directed.
Perform basic security dispatch functions, including: Monitoring radios and cameras, Logging incidents or calls for service, Communicating with security officers in the field.
Maintain situational awareness and support overall property safety operations.
Communicate with guests, owners, and team members using professional, positive, and service-oriented behavior.
Anticipate needs and offer assistance proactively.
Represent the Security and Operations teams with a high level of professionalism at all times.
Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
Perform additional duties as assigned by Security Management.
