About The Position

The objective of all positions is to effectively provide the services personally, or to immediately refer requests to the appropriate department manager. The Security Officer ensures that hotel guests, associates, and hotel property are maintained in a safe and secure environment. This role involves performing regular security rounds, responding to emergencies, enforcing hotel policies, and maintaining high security standards.

Requirements

  • Ability to perform Security rounds of the hotel.
  • Ability to respond immediately to emergency incidents and Security requests.
  • Ability to enforce hotel policies and procedures.
  • Ability to write reports on activities during each shift.
  • Ability to check associates leaving and entering the hotel.
  • Ability to collect package passes and inspect parcels.
  • Ability to monitor the Security of the receiving dock.
  • Ability to confiscate unauthorized parcels.
  • Ability to check I.D.'s of hotel staff.
  • Ability to provide information and direction to job applicants, salesmen, etc.
  • Ability to notify department heads for permission for non-staff personnel.
  • Ability to remain at assigned station until properly relieved.
  • Ability to perform clerical requirements of the Security Department.
  • Ability to protect the hotel from admission of undesirables.

Responsibilities

  • Performs Security rounds of the hotel, including all restaurants, lobby areas, the Associates Entrance Garage, Convention Center, Banquet level, all guest floors, Executive Offices, and Service levels (back of the house areas).
  • Visits all locations requiring special attention as frequently as required.
  • Responds immediately to emergency incidents and Security requests.
  • Ensures maximum guest, associate, and hotel safety and security at all times.
  • Is courteous, tactful, and helpful, but firm in enforcing hotel policies and procedures.
  • Reports in writing on all activities during each shift before leaving the hotel, with oral reports and emergency notifications delivered as directed by established Security procedures.
  • Performs duties as assigned by the Director of Security, Assistant Director of Security, Security Supervisor, and responds to directions from any Executive Committee member or Assistant Manager.
  • Creates and maintains the highest standards of Security at all times, being professional in attitude, appearance, and application.
  • Checks associates leaving and entering the hotel at the beginning and end of shift, or at any time when an associate leaves the hotel. Collects all package passes and inspects parcels taken from the hotel.
  • Monitors the Security of the receiving dock.
  • Confiscates all unauthorized parcels etc., and notifies the Director of Security and the appropriate department head.
  • Checks all I.D.'s of the hotel staff and provides information and direction upon proper identification of all job applicants, salesmen, etc. Notifies the department head involved for permission for non-staff personnel to enter the premises.
  • Does not leave assigned station unless properly relieved as specified by the Director of Security.
  • Performs all necessary clerical requirements of the Security Department under the supervision of the Director of Security, including filing, processing work orders, ordering supplies, maintaining necessary schedules, and posting bulletin board information.
  • Protects hotel from admission of undesirables and others not conducting legitimate business within the premises.
