About The Position

Central State Hospital (CSH), a 277-bed Joint Commission-accredited psychiatric inpatient facility in Petersburg, Virginia, is seeking a Security Lieutenant to help maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, visitors, and staff. The role requires comprehensive security knowledge and risk mitigation skills, timely identification and resolution of safety and security concerns, and collaboration with hospital leadership and staff. The lieutenant communicates professionally, provides constructive feedback and coaching, and uses computer and administrative skills to monitor employee training, maintain records, and support compliance with hospital regulations and safety standards. The position requires flexibility to work any shift, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to meet 24/7 operational needs.

Requirements

Valid Virginia Driver’s License.
Previous experience in Security and Mental Health.
Ability to become certified as a DCJS unarmed Security Officer.
