About The Position

Johnson Controls is seeking a Commercial Installer to install and program integrated fire and security systems at a high-profile commercial client location. The role also involves dismantling and reconstructing equipment as needed, coordinating service and emergency notifications, and supporting safe, effective installation work. The position is onsite and may include managing installation teams on larger projects and coaching less experienced installers.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
At least 5 years of electrical and electronic equipment experience with demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings.
Ability to operate hand and power tools.
Ability to operate a fleet vehicle safely at all times.
Ability to communicate and provide excellent customer service.

Some technical school training.

Responsibilities

Install appropriate devices and dismantle or reconstruct equipment as required by the customer or Tyco Integrated Security.
Work safely to avoid injuries and property damage, prevent loss of unused materials, and clean up installation debris.
Contact customers before scheduled installation dates to verify the schedule.
Prepare estimates according to supervisor instructions or directions.
Follow schematic wiring diagrams and hookup procedures.
Test system operation to the signal-receiving center to establish service properly.
Read building, electrical, and sprinkler blueprints as required.
Coordinate installations with police and fire departments and maintain records for emergency-call notifications.
May manage installation teams on larger projects.
Coach and mentor less experienced installers.
