About The Position

The Commercial Installer works onsite at a high-profile client location, installing and programming Johnson Controls Integrated Security fire and security systems for commercial customers. The role also involves dismantling and reconstructing equipment when necessary. Installers support critical business operations and may manage installation teams on larger projects while coaching and mentoring less experienced installers.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
At least 5 years of electrical and electronic equipment experience, with demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings.
Ability to operate hand and power tools.
Ability to operate a fleet vehicle safely at all times.
Ability to communicate and provide excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

Install appropriate devices and dismantle or reconstruct equipment as required by the customer or Tyco Integrated Security.
Work safely and responsibly to avoid injuries, property damage, and loss of unused materials, and clean up installation debris.
Contact customers before scheduled installation dates to verify the schedule.
Prepare estimates according to prescribed instructions or supervisor directions.
Follow schematic wiring diagrams and hook-up procedures.
Test system operation to the signal-receiving center to properly establish service.
Read building, electrical, and sprinkler blueprints as required.
Coordinate installations with police and fire departments and maintain required records for emergency-call notifications.
Manage installation teams on larger projects when needed.
Coach and mentor less experienced installers.
