About The Position

The Security Installer works onsite with commercial customers to install, set up, and program integrated fire and security systems. The role also includes dismantling and reconstructing equipment when required. Installers work safely, coordinate installation schedules and related notifications, test systems, and may manage installation teams on larger projects. The position includes coaching and mentoring less experienced installers.

Requirements

Able to obtain and retain licenses required by applicable national, state, and local codes.
3–5 years of experience with electrical and electronic equipment and demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, program schematics, and operational or product manuals.
Ability to operate hand and power tools.
Ability to operate a fleet vehicle safely at all times.
Ability to communicate and provide excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

Install appropriate devices and dismantle or reconstruct equipment as required by the customer or Tyco Integrated Security.
Work safely to avoid injuries and property damage, prevent loss of unused materials, and clean up installation debris.
Contact customers before scheduled installation dates to verify schedules.
Prepare estimates according to prescribed instructions or supervisor directions.
Follow schematic wiring diagrams and hookup procedures.
Test system operation to the signal-receiving center to properly establish service.
Read building, electrical, and sprinkler blueprints as required.
Coordinate installations with police and fire departments and maintain records needed for emergency-call notifications.
May manage installation teams on larger projects.
Coach and mentor less experienced installers.
