About The Position

The Commercial Installer works onsite with commercial customers to set up and program Integrated Security fire and security systems. The role also involves dismantling and reconstructing equipment when necessary. Installers may manage teams on larger projects and coach and mentor less experienced installers.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
At least 5 years of electrical and electronic equipment experience, with demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings.
Ability to operate hand and power tools.
Ability to operate a fleet vehicle safely at all times.
Ability to communicate and provide excellent customer service.

Some technical school training.

Responsibilities

Install appropriate devices and dismantle or reconstruct equipment as required by the customer or Tyco Integrated Security.
Work safely and responsibly to prevent injuries and property damage, avoid loss of unused materials, and clean up installation debris.
Contact customers before scheduled installation dates to verify the schedule.
Prepare estimates according to prescribed instructions or supervisor directions.
Follow schematic wiring diagrams and hookup procedures.
Test system operation with the signal-receiving center to properly establish service.
Read building, electrical, and sprinkler blueprints as required.
Coordinate installations with police and fire departments and maintain records necessary for emergency-call notifications.
Manage installation teams on larger projects as needed.
Coach and mentor less experienced installers.
