About The Position

Johnson Controls is hiring a Security Installer to install and service security systems. The role involves working safely at customer sites, coordinating installation schedules, preparing estimates, following wiring diagrams and procedures, and testing systems to establish service. Installers may also coordinate with emergency services and, on larger projects, manage installation teams and mentor less experienced installers.

Requirements

Be able to obtain and retain any licenses required by National, State, and Local codes.
Have 3–5 years of electrical and electronic equipment experience and demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
Have experience reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, program schematics, and operational or product manuals.
Be able to operate hand and power tools.
Be able to pull wires.
Be able to operate a fleet vehicle safely at all times.
Have a valid driver's license.
Be able to communicate and provide excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

Install appropriate devices and dismantle or reconstruct equipment as required by the customer or Tyco Integrated Security.
Work safely and responsibly to prevent injuries, property damage, and loss of unused materials; clean up installation debris.
Contact customers before scheduled installation dates to verify schedules.
Prepare estimates according to supervisor instructions or directions.
Follow schematic wiring diagrams and hook-up procedures.
Test system operation to the signal-receiving center to properly establish service.
Read building, electrical, and sprinkler blueprints as required.
Coordinate installations with police and fire departments and maintain necessary records for emergency-call notifications.
Manage installation teams on larger projects as needed.
Coach and mentor less experienced installers.
