About The Position

Harvard Protection Services is seeking a Security Guard to provide professional, customer-focused security and life safety services for people and property. The role supports the company’s goal of delivering high-quality security services and maintaining a safe and secure environment. Officers represent the company through professional conduct and customer service while protecting the assigned facility or building. Duties may vary by customer location.

Requirements

Hold any security officer licenses mandated by the state or municipality.
Have at least a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Have a security guard license or be able to obtain one within an acceptable period.
Have a valid driver's license, as indicated by the job title.
Have reliable means of communication and transportation.
Have strong interpersonal communication skills and a neat, professional appearance.

Nice To Haves

Previous contract security, law enforcement, military, or customer service experience.

Responsibilities

Maintain a professional demeanor and assist customers, employees, visitors, and guests.
Maintain a visible presence in the assigned facility or building.
Monitor the environment and detect suspicious or unsafe activity.
Become familiar with incoming and outgoing traffic and recognize customers, tenants, visitors, and guests.
Greet customers, visitors, staff, tenants, and guests professionally.
Answer phones professionally.
Permit authorized persons to enter the property and monitor entrances and exits.
Learn and enforce facility or building policies and procedures within the limits of the position.
Conduct required patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle.
Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure property removal follows customer requirements.
Follow established emergency action plans and procedures.
Monitor alarms and systems.
Prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities as directed.
