About The Position

Harvard Protection Services is seeking a Security Guard to provide professional, customer-focused security and life safety services for people and property. The role supports the company’s goal of maintaining a safe and secure environment through a visible security presence, monitoring activity, enforcing facility policies, conducting patrols, and following emergency procedures. Duties may vary depending on the assigned customer location.

Requirements

State- or municipality-mandated security officer license requirements must be met.
Minimum high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Must have a security guard license or be able to obtain one within an acceptable period.
Must have reliable means of communication and transportation.
Strong interpersonal communication skills.
Neat and professional appearance.
Ability to write routine correspondence, including log entries and incident reports.

Nice To Haves

Previous contract security, law enforcement, military, or customer service experience.

Responsibilities

Maintain a professional demeanor and assist customers, employees, visitors, and guests.
Maintain a visible presence in the assigned facility or building.
Monitor the environment and detect suspicious or unsafe activity.
Become familiar with incoming and outgoing traffic and recognize customers, tenants, visitors, and guests.
Greet customers, visitors, staff, tenants, and guests professionally.
Answer phones professionally.
Permit authorized persons to enter the property and monitor entrances and exits.
Learn and enforce facility or building policies and procedures within the limits of the position.
Conduct required patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle.
Observe departing personnel to help prevent theft of company property and ensure property is removed only as authorized under customer requirements.
Follow established emergency action plans and procedures.
Monitor alarms and systems.
Prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities as directed.
