About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring part-time Security Guards to oversee a corporate building in the Hudson Yards area of Manhattan. The position involves interacting daily with the general public, the client, and staff, and requires strong customer service skills. Shifts are available in the morning, afternoon, and evening, and candidates should be flexible Monday through Sunday. The hourly pay rate is $25.95.

Security Guards serve and safeguard clients in industries including commercial real estate, healthcare, education, and government. Work environments and conditions may vary by client site. Applicants are subject to background investigation and drug screening as permitted by law. Licensing may be required under applicable state or local laws; a valid driver's license is required only for driving positions.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles or 21 years old or older for armed roles.
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent, or five years of verifiable experience.
• Have at least two years of security-related experience.
• Meet applicable licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
• Have a valid driver's license if applying for a driving position.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by carrying out safety and security procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly and with a problem-solving approach.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and its perimeter.
