About The Position

The Security Guard protects property from theft or damage and protects people from hazards or interference. The primary duty is to observe and report security and emergency situations, intervening directly only when minimal action is needed to safeguard property or persons. The role may be assigned to a fixed post, foot or vehicle patrols, or escorting people or property. The Guard may be deputized to make arrests and may assist visitors and customers by answering questions and providing directions. The position may require proficiency with firearms and other special weapons, as well as ongoing physical fitness. The work takes place in office and outdoor settings, including possible exposure to extreme weather for extended periods. The employee must be able to operate a flight line vehicle, lift, push, or pull at least 50 pounds, distinguish colors, and judge three-dimensional depth. Weekend and holiday work is required, and the employee must be able to work any assigned shift or schedule. Employees are responsible for maintaining a safe work environment, completing required training, fulfilling self-aid/buddy-aid responsibilities, participating in emergency response tasks as applicable, and complying with Amentum quality, operational, safety, environmental, and customer requirements. Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
Must be able to work any assigned shift or schedule.
Must be able to obtain and maintain any company- or government-required qualification, certification, license, or security clearance.
Valid state driver's license.
Knowledge of proper safety procedures concerning fuel leaks and other hazardous materials.
Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
Ability to lift, push, or pull at least 50 pounds.
Ability to distinguish colors and judge three-dimensional depth.
Ability to operate a flight line vehicle.
Good written communication and telephone skills.

Responsibilities

Follow detailed instructions and procedures to discover and report emergencies and security violations to the appropriate authority.
Serve at a fixed post, conduct rounds on foot or by motor vehicle, or escort people or property.
Intervene directly only when minimal action is required to safeguard property or persons.
Assist visitors and customers by answering questions and giving directions, as needed.
Demonstrate proficiency with firearms and other special weapons and maintain physical fitness, if required.
Complete assigned position-related duties.
Complete applicable safety training and self-aid/buddy-aid responsibilities; participate in emergency response tasks and safety committees or teams as appropriate.
Comply with Amentum quality policies, quality-system documents, customer contracts, and applicable operational, safety, quality, and environmental requirements.
