Requirements

  • Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and staff by carrying out site-specific procedures, security-related policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and document events according to site procedures.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned areas, entrances, common spaces, and the surrounding perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
  • Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorization as directed, and assist with maintaining orderly entry and exit procedures.
  • Prepare clear, accurate reports and communicate observations, incidents, and maintenance or security-related concerns to site leadership and Allied Universal management.
