Requirements

  • Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
  • One or more years of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and authorized personnel while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures and emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, surrounding perimeter, parking areas, and restricted-access locations; report unusual conditions and maintenance concerns.
  • Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorization in accordance with site policies, and help maintain controlled access to sensitive areas.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site contacts and emergency responders as directed.
  • Document patrols, incidents, and access-related activity accurately and maintain a respectful, professional presence in a healthcare and forensic environment.
