About The Position

As a Security Officer Medical Facility Access Control in Jamaica, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an unarmed Security Officer at a healthcare-related medical examiner location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support a secure environment for staff and visitors. Requirements

  • Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
  • Have at least one year of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and/or authorized representatives at a healthcare-related medical examination location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Monitor access points and check credentials in accordance with established site procedures, documenting visitor activity and directing individuals to appropriate areas.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, promptly notifying appropriate site contacts and/or emergency responders.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the facility, exterior areas, and perimeter to help identify unusual activity, unauthorized access, and/or conditions requiring attention.
  • Prepare clear, accurate reports of incidents, patrol observations, and daily activities in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.
