About The Position

The Security Officer is responsible for monitoring the safety of Southeast clients, employees, and property. This person provides building and parking lot surveillance and responds to internal emergencies when requested. In addition, this person is responsible for general light maintenance and some housekeeping functions. Security officer may be responsible for transportation and delivery of agency medical records, mail, supplies and/or other materials as needed.

Requirements

Ability to use office equipment, including common computer programs.
Ability to maintain and prepare moderately complex records and reports.
Ability to work independently and perform assignments with minimum instruction and supervision.
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
Valid Ohio driver’s license and proof of insurance.

Responsibilities

Receives packages and signs for deliveries made to the agency.
Maintains a courteous and professional demeanor with the public, customers, and Southeast employees.
Greets the public and customers, routes them to appropriate staff when providing security duties.
Provides back-up security coverage in the absence of the Security officer at 1455 S. Fourth Street.
Periodically walks throughout the building in order to assure inner-building security.
Intervenes in security situations as needed.
Reports questionable occurrences/concerns to the Operations Manager/ Clinical Director/Case Managers.
Properly stores supplies as they are received.
Sets up and straightens the Board and Training Rooms for trainings, meetings, and other events as requested.
Assists in safety drills as needed.
Processes/sorts and delivers mail, supplies and/or other materials that may be required to Southeast’s satellite locations as needed.
