Requirements

  • Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
  • Have at least one year of security-related experience.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and contractors by carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a government transportation location.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and access points; verify identification and authorization credentials; and maintain visitor and contractor entry records in accordance with site procedures.
  • Respond to access-related incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and documenting activities as required.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, access points, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized entry and identify security-related concerns.
  • Assist with directing visitors to appropriate offices or service areas and report suspicious activity, damaged access-control equipment, or policy violations to site leadership.
