Requirements

Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
Have at least one year of security-related experience.
Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and contractors by carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a government transportation location.
Monitor entrances, exits, and access points; verify identification and authorization credentials; and maintain visitor and contractor entry records in accordance with site procedures.
Respond to access-related incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and documenting activities as required.
Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, access points, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized entry and identify security-related concerns.
Assist with directing visitors to appropriate offices or service areas and report suspicious activity, damaged access-control equipment, or policy violations to site leadership.
