About The Position

Commissionaires Great Lakes (CGL) is a private, not-for-profit organization founded in 1925 that prioritizes providing meaningful employment for veterans and others committed to the well-being of Canadians, primarily in security guard and related services. Spanning Central and Southwestern Ontario, CGL offers customized services to meet the evolving security needs of private and public sector clients, including uniformed guard, mobile response and support services, by-law enforcement, and identification services. They are currently seeking a Commissionaire to join their growing team as a spare/casual employee for upcoming vacancies. The role emphasizes commitment to serving clients and employees to enhance organizational success.

Requirements

Valid Ontario Security Guard License
Valid WSIB accredited First Aid and CPR certificate
Ability to obtain Level II (Secret) clearance (resident in Canada 10 years or longer, clean criminal record, clean credit history)
Ability to work alone while maintaining a high level of service to the client is essential
High attention to detail
Customer service

Responsibilities

Ensure access control policies and procedures are followed and client property is secured
Monitor CCTV cameras
Maintain positive attitude and professional working relationships with employees, visitors and clients
Complete site reporting requirements, daily logs and written reports
Maintain high standards of personal appearance and deportment
Maintain effective communication
Respond to alarms and calls for assistance
Provide assistance to employees, clients and visitors
Regular interior and exterior foot patrols
Other duties as may be required by the client or site supervisor
