About The Position

Commissionaires Great Lakes (CGL) is a private, not-for-profit organization founded in 1925. CGL's mandate prioritizes providing meaningful employment for veterans and others committed to the well-being of Canadians, primarily in security guard and related services. Spanning Central and Southwestern Ontario, CGL offers customized services to meet the evolving security needs of private and public sector clients, including uniformed guards, mobile response and support, by-law enforcement, and identification services. This posting is for an upcoming vacancy for a Commissionaire. The role requires a commitment to serving client and employee needs to enhance organizational success.

Requirements

Ontario Secondary School Diploma
Valid Ontario Security Guard License
Valid First Aid and CPR certificate
Able to obtain a Reliability (Level I) Security Clearance
Minimum 5 Years of Residency in Canada
Ability to stand for long periods of time and complete frequent patrols
Ability to work alone while maintaining a high level of service to the client is essential

Responsibilities

Ensure access control policies and procedures are followed and client property is secured
Monitor CCTV cameras
Maintain positive attitude and professional working relationships with employees, visitors and clients
Complete site reporting requirements, daily logs and written reports
Maintain high standards of personal appearance and deportment
Maintain effective communication
Respond to alarms and calls for assistance
Provide assistance to employees, clients and visitors
Regular interior and exterior foot patrols
Other duties as may be required by the client or site supervisor
