About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Armed Security Officer for a financial institution location in Newark, New Jersey. The role involves safeguarding clients by monitoring and patrolling assigned areas, maintaining a visible security presence, and responding professionally to incidents. The officer provides customer service and clear communication while supporting a caring, team-focused culture. A shift-claiming platform lets part-time officers explore additional shifts. The schedule is Wednesday and Friday, 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The pay rate is $30.30 per hour. Applicants must be retired law enforcement with an RPO and meet the stated training and armed-licensing requirements. Employment is contingent on applicable background investigation and drug screening, and the employee must participate in industry-specific security training.

Requirements

Graduate of a Law Enforcement or Military Police Training Program, or equivalent.
Must be retired law enforcement with RPO.
Possess an Armed Guard Card or License.
At least 21 years of age for armed roles.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and vendors at a financial services location by following security procedures and site-specific policies and participating in emergency response activities when appropriate.
Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations; document observations and complete required reports.
Conduct regular and random armed patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, parking areas, and the business perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials, and direct individuals to appropriate locations.
Communicate professionally with site personnel, emergency responders, and Allied Universal leadership while following armed post orders and reporting requirements.
