About The Position

As a Security Officer Armed Patrol in Bloomington, Illinois, you will safeguard a government location as part of Allied Universal’s security team. You will conduct routine armed patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, respond to security-related concerns, and communicate professionally with employees and visitors. The role emphasizes outstanding customer service, integrity, and teamwork.

This is a full-time position paying $23.38 per hour. Scheduled shifts are 5:00 PM–12:30 AM on Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Possess an armed guard card or license.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable law.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements depend on applicable state and local laws and may be required before employment.

Nice To Haves

• Comfort using a computer or tablet.
• Possess a state-, county-, or city-issued security license.
• Customer service experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and government facility personnel by carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations, follow established protocols, and notify appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of government buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points and verify authorization for individuals entering restricted areas according to site procedures.
• Prepare accurate reports and maintain required documentation related to incidents, patrol activity, access control, and other security observations.
