About The Position

Commissionaires Great Lakes (CGL) is a private, not-for-profit organization founded in 1925. CGL prioritizes providing meaningful employment for veterans and others committed to the well-being of Canadians, primarily in security guard and related services. Spanning Central and Southwestern Ontario, CGL offers customized services including uniformed guard, mobile response and support, by-law enforcement, and identification services. This posting is for an existing vacancy for a Commissionaire to join their growing team. The role requires commitment to serving client and employee needs to enhance organizational success.

Requirements

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma
  • MUST Ontario Security Guard License
  • MUST Valid First Aid and CPR certificate
  • Use of Force Certification
  • Ability to stand/sit/walk for long periods of time
  • Ability to speak/read/communicate in English (fluently)
  • Excellent customer service and reception skills
  • The ability to work alone while maintaining a high level of service to the client is essential
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and act quickly.
  • Prolong standing and sitting may be required.
  • Highly reliable, work well under pressure, able to work with minimal supervision, have the ability to multitask and be a professional who takes pride in your dress, deportment and performance at all times.

  • Ability to speak French is consider an asset

Responsibilities

  • Identifies and clarifies resident's needs, answers questions, gives directions and instructions.
  • Manages and screens messages.
  • Schedules access for authorized vendors to provide services within units.
  • Maintains guest privacy and organization reputation by keeping information confidential.
  • Ensures all safety and access control procedures and maintains a safe work environment.
  • Provide protection to the clients, residents and property of the buildings CGL is contracted to provide services.
  • Observe floors and stairways ensuring that they are clear of debris, obstructions and fire hazards and that access doors to sensitive/priority areas are locked. Be alert to deficiencies in the physical building which could cause injury or loss of client’s assets.
  • Enforce client’s rules, regulations, Municipal, Ontario and Canadian Laws and assist Police and Medical Staff when required.
  • Provide exceptional Customer Service to Clients, Customers, Contractors and Visitors to client’s property.
  • Perform routine property patrols of all levels of building, parking areas and perimeter and respond to Emergencies and Fire Alarms.
  • Follow up with daily documentation, daily occurrence log, incident reports and front desk software as required.
  • Ability to do pre and post inspections of guest suite and party room.
  • Conduct Pool test as required.
