Security Guard - Armed Patrol Part Time

About The Position

As a part-time Armed Security Officer supporting an aerospace and defense location in Fairfax, Virginia, you will conduct routine armed patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, monitor assigned areas, and respond to security-related concerns. You will provide customer service and clear communication while working with a team at Allied Universal. The position pays $26.31 per hour. The scheduled hours are Saturdays and Sundays, 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM. The role offers access to a platform for viewing and claiming additional shifts.

Requirements

Possess an armed guard card or license.
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
Meet applicable state and/or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Nice To Haves

A guard card or license is preferred.
Customer service experience is preferred.
Handcuffing certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and personnel by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control protocols, and emergency response activities.
Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
Monitor access points and verify authorization for personnel, visitors, deliveries, and vehicles entering restricted or controlled areas.
Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, alarms, and critical situations, following post orders and applicable procedures.
Accurately and promptly document patrol activity, incidents, observations, and security-related concerns, and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal management.
