About The Position

The purpose of this role is to provide the overall safety and security of employees, guests, and facilities. This includes monitoring access control and alarm systems, acting as an emergency response center, coordinating with local authorities, patrolling the property, and enforcing company policies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have successfully completed the State of Ohio approved minimum 205 hours of Ohio Private Police training or be willing to complete the training at own expense within a Company approved time period.
  • Must meet standards expected of law enforcement officers (civil or military).
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Highly motivated, quick learning, quality conscious and have the initiative to take ownership.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Very alert and able to act calmly and decisively under stressful conditions.
  • Able to work well with people in all areas and levels of the company.
  • Able to work rotating shifts, holidays, and weekends as required. Excellent attendance and “on time“ record required.
  • Able to walk up to two miles per shift and climb steps.
  • Must possess a valid Ohio driver's license.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree in Criminal Justice or three years previous experience with a security agency or police department preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor access control systems for all employees and guests, verify credentials, issue temporary I.D. badges.
  • Monitor all fire and alarm systems for the corporate office, Mentor facility, various sales offices and Distribution Centers. Constant monitoring of all radio communications.
  • Act as the companies 911 (2222) (6222) emergency response center.
  • Act as Incident Command emergency dispatch center for critical incidents. Dispatch ETM’s for emergency response on critical incidents.
  • Coordinate with local police and fire for critical incident emergency response.
  • Patrol property, enforce parking guidelines, monitor surveillance equipment and inspect buildings. Monitor vehicle access in and out of the truck gate, verify manifest and inspect vehicles.
  • Maintain various security logs
  • Direct and monitor all railroad traffic in and out of the facility to ensure safety of all employees. Provide for the overall safety and security of company employees, guests and assets.
  • Interpret and enforce company and departmental policies and procedures. Irregular work schedule required.
  • Effectively represent the company to all guests.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager of Security.
