About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Patrol for an assigned manufacturing and industrial site in Decatur, Illinois. The role provides a designated weekly anchor shift that requires a six-month commitment, with the option to claim additional shifts through the company scheduling platform. Hours may vary based on claimed shifts, with opportunities to build up to 40 hours per week and the option to scale back. The listed pay rate is $19.50 per hour. The posted schedule is Monday, 2:00 PM–10:00 PM.

The Security Guard provides customer service and carries out site security procedures, policies, and emergency response activities. Duties include unarmed patrols, monitoring access, responding to incidents and alarms, and documenting activity and safety concerns. Applicants must meet age and education requirements and may be subject to background and drug screening. State or local licensing may be required.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
• Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of production areas, warehouses, parking areas, access points, and the facility perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor property access, verify visitor and contractor credentials, and maintain visitor and vehicle entry records according to site procedures.
• Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations, communicating observations to site contacts and emergency responders as needed.
• Complete activity reports and incident documentation, and report maintenance concerns, hazards, or policy violations observed during patrols.
