About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time unarmed Security Officer Enhanced for an assigned government location in Springfield, Illinois. The position offers a designated weekly anchor shift requiring a six-month commitment, with the option to claim additional shifts through the company scheduling platform. Hours may vary with extra shifts, with opportunities to build up to a full-time schedule of as many as 40 hours per week. The listed schedule is Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The pay rate is $23.38 per hour.

The role provides customer service while carrying out security procedures and site-specific policies, conducting unarmed patrols, monitoring access points, responding to incidents, and documenting activity. Applicants are subject to applicable background investigations and drug screening.

Requirements

• At least one year of security-related experience.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet.
• At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
• Applicants are subject to drug screening to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements vary by state and/or local law and may be required before employment.
• A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• A state-, county-, or city-issued security license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and contractors while following security procedures and site-specific policies, and participating in emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations, following reporting and escalation protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior and exterior areas, including entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations.
• Monitor access points and observe for unusual conditions; document incidents, hazards, and maintenance concerns according to site procedures.
• Maintain accurate daily activity reports and communicate relevant information to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
