Commissionaires Great Lakes (CGL) is a private, not-for-profit organization founded in 1925 that prioritizes providing meaningful employment for veterans and others committed to the well-being of Canadians, primarily in security guard and related services. Spanning Central and Southwestern Ontario, CGL offers customized services to meet the evolving security needs of both private and public sector clients, including uniformed guard, mobile response and support services, by-law enforcement, and identification services. This posting is for an existing vacancy for a Commissionaire to join their growing team. The role requires a commitment to serving clients and employees to enhance the organization's success.

Requirements

Ontario Secondary School Diploma
Ontario Security Guard License
Valid First Aid and CPR certificate
Ability to attain a Vulnerable Sector Clearance
Ability to speak/read/communicate in English (fluently)
Excellent customer service and reception skills
Ability to work alone while maintaining a high level of service to the client is essential
Highly reliable
Work well under pressure
Able to work with minimal supervision
Ability to multitask
Professionalism in dress, deportment, and performance

Nice To Haves

Ability to speak French

Responsibilities

Provide a uniformed security presence for various High Schools in Halton Region.
Ensuring the safe arrival and departure of students onto, and off of, school grounds.
Patrolling of the hallways to ensure safe movement of students between classes and to prevent unwanted activity among students.
Identifying trespassers onto school property and ensuring their removal from school grounds.
Being aware of school policies regarding student activity and ensuring they are followed.
Other security duties as described by school administration.
Working at different schools throughout the Region.
