About The Position

According to the organization’s policies and procedures and applicable federal, state, and local regulations, the Security Guard is responsible for protecting and safeguarding residents, visitors, and vendors on campus. The position operates under the supervision of the Director of Environmental Services or a designee, depending on the service line. The guard conducts security patrols, responds to emergencies, investigates and documents incidents, and performs other campus-support duties.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must have good communication, comprehension, and interpersonal skills.
Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
Must have excellent customer service skills.

Nice To Haves

One to two years of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Conduct routine interior and exterior security patrols and provide customer service or assistance to residents, employees, visitors, and vendors.
Respond to emergency situations, including independent living pendant alarms, building alarms, and 911 calls.
Investigate and write reports on accidents, incidents, suspicious activities, and related situations.
Deliver newspapers, clean common areas, and empty trash.
Complete paperwork related to shift reports.
May train new employees.
Attend and participate in in-service education programs.
Maintain a positive and professional manner, manage time effectively, promote teamwork, and participate in appropriate problem-solving methods.
Respect residents’ rights and dignity, report client or family complaints to appropriate supervisors, and immediately report allegations of abuse, misappropriation of funds or client property, and other corporate compliance issues.
Follow the National Church Residences Employee Information Guide, facility policies, and applicable regulations and laws, including policies on corporate compliance, a drug-free workplace, and safe work practices.
Perform other duties as assigned.
