As an Unarmed Security Officer at an educational location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming campus environment. You will respond to alarms and campus concerns, communicate clearly with students, faculty, staff, and visitors, and provide exceptional customer service. Requirements

  • Possess at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
  • Possession of a guard card and/or license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and other campus community members while carrying out site-specific procedures and security-related responsibilities.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established emergency response protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of academic buildings, entrances, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity.
  • Monitor access points and report suspicious activity, maintenance concerns, policy violations, and other security-related observations to appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain accurate daily activity reports and incident documentation in accordance with site procedures and Allied Universal requirements.
