About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Guard for a residential shelter in Long Island City, New York. In this unarmed patrol role, the guard monitors assigned areas, conducts routine patrols, maintains a visible presence to help deter incidents, and provides customer service and communication to residents, visitors, and staff. The role supports a welcoming residential environment and responds to security-related concerns professionally and with integrity. This is a full-time position paying $18.87 per hour. The listed schedule is Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM.

Requirements

Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.

Nice To Haves

CPR and First Aid certification.
X-Ray screening experience.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and service providers by carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations calmly and professionally, following reporting and escalation procedures.
Conduct regular and random patrols of residential building areas, entrances, common spaces, grounds, and perimeter, identifying and reporting unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.
Monitor access points and visitor activity according to site-specific procedures.
Accurately document incidents, observations, patrol activities, and maintenance-related concerns, and communicate relevant information to site management or appropriate personnel.
