About The Position

Cornerstone Family Healthcare is actively recruiting for a Security Guard to join our growing team in Newburgh, NY. The Security Guard is responsible for ensuring the overall safety and security of the building, including employees, patients, and visitors. This role involves monitoring premises, responding to incidents, and enforcing facility policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Basic computer skills
  • Completion of NYS 8-hour and 16-hour Security Guard training (annual recertification required)
  • Valid NYS Driver’s License required
  • Reliable personal vehicle required
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Valid NYS Security Guard License preferred
  • 1–3 years of prior security experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Respond to calls related to disturbances both inside and outside the facility during hours of operation.
  • Monitor and control access to the building by authorizing entry and departure of employees, patients, and visitors.
  • Operate and monitor surveillance cameras and security systems.
  • Enforce policies related to loitering and ensure common areas remain clear and orderly.
  • Inform patients and visitors of safety regulations and facility policies.
  • Maintain accurate daily logs of activities, including any irregularities such as property damage, theft, unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
  • Complete detailed incident reports and promptly report major incidents to the Site Administrator.
  • Contact police, fire department, or emergency services as necessary.
  • Address rule violations, issue warnings, and remove individuals from the premises when required.
  • Receive, log, and distribute incoming packages to appropriate departments.
  • Conduct routine patrols of parking areas.
  • Perform courier duties as needed, including: Transporting medical charts between sites, Picking up and delivering mail, Transporting deposits to Administration.
  • Attend and participate in required meetings, including departmental and all-staff meetings.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all organizational matters, including patient information, financial data, and employee relations.
  • Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook and Policy Manual.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
