About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Guard Enhanced Part Time Credential Verification in New York, NY, assigned to a financial institution. The role provides a fixed weekly shift at an assigned site, with a six-month commitment, and the option to claim additional shifts through the company scheduling platform. Additional shifts may allow the schedule to grow to as many as 40 hours per week, with the option to scale back. The listed schedule is Wednesday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM. Pay is $19.59 per hour.

The Security Guard provides customer service while performing security procedures, monitoring access and visitor activity, responding to incidents, patrolling the facility, and completing required reports and logs. Employment is contingent on a background investigation and, where permitted by law, a drug screen.

Requirements

• A New York State Security Guard License is required.
• At least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles or 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may need to be met before employment, depending on applicable state or local laws and regulations.

Nice To Haves

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients at a financial institution while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Monitor access points, visitor activity, and entry procedures according to site-specific requirements.
• Respond calmly and use problem-solving skills in incidents and critical situations, escalating concerns to appropriate personnel as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, lobby areas, parking areas, and perimeter to identify and report unusual activity.
• Complete accurate incident reports, daily activity logs, and other required documentation according to company and site procedures.
