This position is responsible for preventing unauthorized access to guarded areas, patrolling designated client areas, and ensuring the proper authorization of all persons and property entering and leaving the premises. The role requires immediate reporting of any discrepancies, violations, incidents, or concerns to the supervisor on duty. The Security Guard must never leave their post without proper relief, answer telephones professionally, and operate a computer and access systems where applicable. Additionally, the guard is responsible for completing reports accurately and in a timely manner, being familiar with all governmental, client, and company regulations, and keeping the supervisor informed of needs and problems in assigned areas. Maintaining the cleanliness of the immediate work area and reporting maintenance needs are also key functions. The role involves projecting a positive image, responding courteously to inquiries, utilizing appropriate communication channels, and maintaining required records, reports, and files. Adherence to company policies and procedures, conscientious use of company and client equipment, supplies, and resources, and performing other requested duties are essential. All assigned duties or tasks are considered part of the essential functions unless unrelated to the listed functions. Employees are expected to follow safe work practices, be aware of company policies and procedures related to job safety, and notify superiors of unsafe working conditions. All functions must be carried out honestly, ethically, and professionally, in conformance with applicable company policies and procedures.
