About The Position

Arcata Associates, Inc. is seeking a Security Guard I to support the AUTEC WPB facility in West Palm Beach, Florida. The position is responsible for helping maintain a safe and secure environment for staff, visitors, and government assets. Duties include observing and reporting security or emergency situations; controlling access to materials and facilities; conducting security checks; monitoring alarms and CCTV; maintaining logs; documenting and investigating incidents and accidents; performing Pass and ID functions; and assisting visitors and customers. The guard may serve at a fixed post, patrol on foot, or escort people or property. The role requires carrying out detailed security procedures, maintaining physical fitness, and using the LENEL Monitoring system and Microsoft Office to update and create reports. Reliable and consistent attendance is required.

Requirements

Must be a U.S. citizen.
Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.
Must pass pre-employment drug screening.
Must be able and willing to work overnight shifts.
High school diploma or GED required.
At least two years of related experience required.
Valid driver's license required.
Basic administrative, clerical, and computer skills in a Windows environment required.
Must meet minimum physical standards, including the ability to perform normal or emergency duties requiring physical exertion such as standing, walking, driving, and jumping for extended periods.

Nice To Haves

Current Secret security clearance preferred.

Responsibilities

Observe and report security and emergency situations.
Inspect and control access of materials into and out of facilities.
Conduct security checks of assigned facilities and areas.
Monitor alarms and CCTV and take appropriate action when necessary.
Intervene directly only when minimal action is needed to safeguard property or people.
Serve at a fixed post, make rounds on foot, or escort people or property.
Maintain logs.
Document and investigate security incidents and accidents as required.
Perform Pass and ID functions.
Assist visitors and customers by answering questions and providing directions.
Maintain continued physical fitness.
Follow detailed instructions and procedures to ensure emergencies and security violations are discovered and reported to the appropriate authority.
Operate the LENEL Monitoring system.
Use Microsoft Office products to update and create reports.
Maintain reliable and consistent attendance.
