About The Position

Under immediate supervision, is responsible for performing patrol and security work at a City facility or related area. Exercises no supervision. Work Location Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center - 900 E. Market Street San Antonio, TX 78205 Work Schedule Shifts: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM, 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM or 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM Shiftwork, weekends, holidays, evenings and extended hours as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent (recognized by the Texas Education Agency or a regional accrediting agency).
• One (1) year experience as a Security Guard or security related experience.
• Valid Class "C" Texas Driver's License.

Nice To Haves

• Three (3) years of experience as a security guard or security related experience.
• Three (3) years of customer service experience
• Experience with Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

• Patrols assigned areas to eliminate or report fire hazards, deter thefts, vandals, or violence.
• Takes necessary action to detain or prevent entry by unauthorized persons.
• Checks buildings, facilities and equipment fixtures and as necessary reports on conditions by often touring, moving about and observing.
• Monitors and maintains station at entry/exit point to City activities.
• Provides information and directions to customers and the general public.
• Maintains activity logs using office equipment and communicates or dispatches through the use of a two-way radio.
• Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.
