About The Position

As a Security Guard Government Building Control Access in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer supporting a government location, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and report security-related concerns. Requirements

  • At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

  • A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and agency personnel at a government facility by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control practices, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned interior and exterior areas, including building perimeters, entrances, parking areas, and other designated locations, to help identify and report unusual activity or conditions.
  • Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with established procedures, directing individuals to appropriate locations and reporting access concerns to site leadership.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following post orders and notifying appropriate personnel and/or emergency responders.
  • Prepare accurate reports and maintain required logs related to patrols, incidents, visitor activity, and other security-related observations.
