About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time armed security officer to provide patrol services at a government location in Bloomington, Illinois. The role safeguards clients and supports site security through routine armed patrols, a visible presence, access monitoring, incident response, customer service, and clear communication. The officer is expected to follow site procedures, applicable laws and regulations, and Allied Universal policies while demonstrating teamwork and integrity.

Requirements

• At least one year of security-related experience.
• An armed guard card or license.
• At least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable state and/or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• A state-, county-, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and agency personnel by carrying out site-specific security procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations; notify appropriate personnel and emergency services as required.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
• Monitor access to restricted areas, verify credentials as directed, and document visitor activity, incidents, observations, and patrol findings according to site procedures.
• Maintain readiness of assigned equipment and complete required reports, logs, and communications while following applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
