About The Position

This position provides security protection to employees, staff, and property through patrol, observation, and reporting procedures. The Colorado Convention Center offers a $500 signing bonus at completion of 30 days of service, an additional $500 bonus upon successful completion of 90 days of service, generous Paid Time Off and Holiday Pay, health, dental, and vision insurance eligible upon hire, a 401(k) investment plan with an employer match of up to 4%, healthcare reimbursement and flexible spending plans, employer-paid and supplemental life insurance, short- and long-term disability insurance, an RTD Eco Pass for full-time employees, a tuition reimbursement program for salaried employees after working full-time for at least one year, and an employee assistance program. Compensation starts at $22.50 per hour at time of hire, increasing to $23.00 after 90 days of service.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED, preferred
One to three years security experience in a large facility preferred
Demonstrate excellent communication (verbal and written) and inter-personal skills among all levels of staff and clientele, required
Work effectively with diverse groups of people among all levels within an organization; skill to work effectively as part of a team, required
Perform leadership role and job tasks effectively despite sudden deadlines and changing priorities, required
Excellent problem solving and organizational skills, required
Provide customer service in a professional considerate manner, required
Excellent record of dependability and reliability, required
Customer Service experience, preferred
Basic computer skills including ability to create word documents and excel spreadsheets, preferred
City and County of Denver Security Guard License required
Valid and current Class C Colorado Driver License preferred
Position requires physical ability to patrol and inspect the facility ground and buildings; up to 3/4 walking and 1/4 siting.
Position requires climbing stairs, standing on cement floors, turning, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, pushing and pulling; may be subject to adverse working conditions, dust, grime, noise, fumes, wet floors etc., including weather; may require use of an electric cart; May be exposed to physical confrontations.
Subject to adverse weather conditions.
Must possess the ability to lift objects up to 50 pounds to desk level.
Requires radio usage of a two-way hand-held radio.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

Provide a guest services level of care for employees, clients, and patrons
Carry out emergency, safety, and security programs and procedures when necessary
Perform foot and vehicle patrols of property
Inspect and report on facilities compliance with safety and security procedures
Investigate and report on incidents including damage/injury to the facility or employees
Assure POD compliance on patrols
Other duties as assigned
