About The Position

Allied Universal Security Services is hiring a Security Professional Flex Officer for a state site in Concord, Massachusetts. The role serves and safeguards clients across industries including healthcare, education, and finance. Officers can use a shift-pickup platform to view and claim open shifts based on availability, while gaining experience at various sites. The officer may be called upon to work irregular shifts with little or no advance notice.

The posting describes part-time flex hours of 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. The starting rate is $21.00 per hour, with paid orientation.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, or five years of verifiable experience.
• Must possess a valid driver's license for more than one year, as stated in the posting.
• A valid driver's license is required if driving a company- or customer-owned vehicle.
• Meet any licensing requirements imposed by state or local laws; licensing may be required before employment.
• Be at least 18 years of age, or older if required by the state; 21 years of age if armed.
• Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments.
• Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors.
• Ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public.
• Effective oral and written communication skills, including the ability to write clearly, informatively, and accurately.
• Active listening and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to assess and evaluate situations and identify critical issues quickly and accurately.
• Ability to mediate conflict with tact and diplomacy.
• Teamwork and attention to detail.

• No prior experience is required.

• Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages, such as Spanish, Portuguese, French, or Arabic.
• Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle.
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Sound alarms or call the police or fire department in the event of a fire or unauthorized persons.
• Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
• Permit authorized persons to enter the property and monitor entrances and exits.
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure authorized property removal follows client requirements.
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities, and maintain written logs as required by the post.
• Assist customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Make emergency notifications as necessary according to site Post Orders.
