About The Position

The Security Coordinator - Junior executes personnel-security, document-control, and physical-security functions in support of Air Force Research Laboratory secure operations across multiple secure areas and buildings. Processes visit and access requests, controls and destroys classified material, supports classified conference operations, and monitors and responds to security incidents in strict accordance with Department of Defense and Air Force security policy.

Requirements

  • Active Secret clearance.
  • Six (6) years of military security experience.
  • Expert proficiency in Microsoft Office; intermediate proficiency in CCURE (or similar) access-control software.
  • Favorably completed Tier 1 (T1) or National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) investigation for Restricted Area Badge issuance.
  • U.S. citizenship required; no foreign nationals authorized (permanent residency does not qualify).
  • Able to obtain and maintain the clearance level required by the DD Form 254; complete security awareness and Level I Operations Security (OPSEC) training within 30 days.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, OneNote, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams) and Adobe Acrobat; able to troubleshoot basic issues without supervision.
  • Effective oral and written communication; professional decorum; maintains cooperative working relationships.

Nice To Haves

  • Formal DoD security-manager or industrial-security training (e.g., Air Force Manual (AFMAN) 16-1404/16-1406 familiarity).
  • Experience with SF 700, SF 701, and SF 702 procedures and classified accountability systems.

Responsibilities

  • Process visit notices within 24 hours, conduct visitor escorts, and complete personnel in- and out-processing on the employee's first and last day with zero access-privilege errors.
  • Review and process Program Access Requests (PARs) with an error rate below 2% per quarter, and review and update active security-clearance processing actions weekly in coordination with the Government Security Manager.
  • Process, log, and distribute classified mail, faxes, courier packages, and electronic file transfers within four business hours at 100% accuracy; process magnetic media within one business day.
  • Perform destruction of classified materials in strict accordance with Department of Defense Manual (DoDM) 5200.04, Volume 3, with zero procedural violations.
  • Schedule Video Teleconference (VTC) bridge requests within eight business hours, provide end-user classified-conference support, and interface with maintenance contractors for connectivity issues.
  • Deliver security training and develop security-awareness presentations (no more than one revision for formatting or grammar) and maintain 100% accurate training-attendance reports.
  • Monitor surveillance camera systems continuously during operational hours; respond to alerts or notifications within 15 minutes and initiate investigation procedures.
  • Record security activity and incident logs with all mandatory fields in the official record system with zero omissions within one hour of the incident's conclusion; perform end-of-day security checks (Standard Form (SF) 701 and SF 702).
