About the position
This job is for a security team manager at Recursion, a clinical-stage biotechnology company. The role involves overseeing the security team, ensuring they are trained and licensed according to company standards, and maintaining knowledge of security procedures. The manager will also establish relationships with other teams, such as first responders and the Gateway Mall Security Supervisor. The position is based at Recursion's headquarters in Salt Lake City and requires 2+ years of experience in people and/or vendor management.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the conduct and performance of the security team
- Acts as a point of communication between Recursion and the Allied office staff
- Responsible for ensuring that the security team is trained and licensed to Allied and Recursion standards
- Onboarding of new guards
- Ensure the team’s training is continually updated and documented
- Oversight of post orders and procedures to ensures that all laws, rules, Recursion expectations, and Allied standards are followed
- Maintain a working knowledge of the procedures followed by the security team in the course of their duties
- Work with Allied site lead to update, edit, and rewrite post orders according to the prevailing demands and conditions of the post
- Supervise, counsel, advise, and discipline the security team according to the laws, statutes, regulations, rules, and standards which govern the post
- Establish and maintain a working relationship with the Gateway Mall Security Supervisor and continually foster good relations with that team
- Foster good relations between the security team and first responders (police, fire, medical)
- Establish partnership between Recursion employees/vendors and the security team
- Establish deep knowledge of all technology systems used by Recursion and Allied as required by this post
- Work with Recursion Site Services team to establish knowledge of facilities, lab systems, and emergency protocol to effectively protect the site including, but not limited to: Fire Alarm Systems, Gas Monitoring Systems, Equipment Monitoring and reading Gauges, Emergency Utility Shut Offs, & Emergency Event Coordination.
- Receive First Aid/CPR/AED training and be prepared to respond to onsite emergencies
- Manage Envoy check-in systems for visitors
- Manage badge access for employees and visitors
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in people and/or vendor management
- BS in a relevant discipline
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Independent and self-motivated
- Effective multitasking, recording, and information management skills
- Project development and coordination skills for a variety of different project areas
- Ability to work with teams at various management levels
- Capable of initiating, developing and implementing programs/processes
