Director, Information Security - Security Engineering

Lead a team in developing and implementing security standards for IT and Cloud Infrastructure, as well as core software products. Ensure security and privacy by design across the technology stack. Participate in efforts to achieve certifications and attestations that demonstrate assurance internally and externally. Collaborate with internal and external partners to prioritize ongoing security improvements. Join a growing IT and Information Security team focused on enabling Recursion's mission to decode biology through world-class technology services. Convey security concepts to non-technical audiences and have hands-on technical experience in security architecture/engineering.

• Lead a team that develops and implements standards for Security across IT and Cloud Infrastructure and core software products
• Ensure security & privacy by design across the technology stack
• Participate in organizational efforts to accomplish SOC2 Type II, ISO 27001 and other certifications and attestations
• Perform Threat modeling and explore new security threats
• Develop strong partnerships within and outside the Technology organization to prioritize ongoing security improvements
• Convey security concepts to non-technical audiences
• Have hands-on Technical experience playing Security Architecture/Engineering roles
• Understand system vulnerabilities, attack surfaces, attack vectors, and tactics used in modern cyber attacks
• Stay updated with new and prevalent technologies and IT systems
• Have at least 10 years of relevant IT/Product Security experience and two or more relevant certifications
• Assess cloud security and lead cross-functional project teams
• Have strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
• Experience leading security projects through influence, collaboration, and coalition-building
• Understand and own every important detail as second nature
