About The Position

Harvard Protection Services is hiring a Security Officer to provide professional, customer-focused security and life safety services for people and property. The role combines concierge services with monitoring and protection of an assigned facility or building. Officers maintain a visible presence, assist customers and visitors, control access, conduct patrols, monitor alarms and systems, follow emergency procedures, and prepare reports. Duties may vary depending on the customer location.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Reliable means of communication and transportation.
Strong interpersonal communication skills.
Neat and professional appearance.
Ability to write routine correspondence, including log entries and incident reports.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in contract security, law enforcement, the military, or customer service.

Responsibilities

Provide concierge services and maintain a professional demeanor while assisting customers, employees, visitors, and guests.
Maintain a visible presence in the assigned facility or building.
Monitor the environment and detect suspicious or unsafe activity.
Become familiar with incoming and outgoing traffic, customers, tenants, visitors, and guests.
Greet customers, visitors, staff, tenants, and guests professionally.
Answer phones professionally.
Permit authorized persons to enter the property and monitor entrances and exits.
Learn and enforce facility or building policies and procedures within the limits of the position.
Perform required patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle.
Observe departing personnel to help protect against theft of company property and ensure authorized property removal complies with customer requirements.
Follow established emergency action plans and procedures.
Monitor alarms and systems.
Prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities as directed.
