About The Position

The Security Associate position is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment within the manufacturing facility. This role involves controlling access, deterring threats, conducting security checks, and responding to emergencies. The associate will also be responsible for maintaining accurate documentation, enforcing safety protocols, and promoting a culture of safety and integrity. This position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure operational efficiency and adherence to company policies and values.

Responsibilities

  • Controls access to the facility by verifying identification, issuing visitor badges, and maintaining visitor logs.
  • Maintains a visible and proactive presence to deter potential security threats and provide a sense of security to associates, visitors, and contractors.
  • Successfully accomplishes work assignments and prioritizes tasks by utilizing policies and available resources.
  • Collaborates effectively with managers, coworkers, and business partners to identify priorities, deadlines, and expectations.
  • Carries out assigned tasks while communicating progress and relevant information.
  • Actively identifies and recommends ways to address improvement opportunities.
  • Demonstrates adaptability and a willingness to learn from change, challenges, and feedback.
  • Adheres to all company safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Uses appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Operates machinery and equipment safely.
  • Immediately reports hazards, near misses, injuries, and accidents.
  • Actively participates in safety training and drills.
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization in work areas to help prevent accidents.
  • Contributes to the continuous improvement of safety protocols and practices.
  • Demonstrates awareness of surroundings to ensure personal safety and the safety of others.
  • Conducts regular security checks of associates, visitors, and vehicles entering or leaving the facility to prevent theft and the unauthorized removal or introduction of items.
  • Provides assistance and guidance to associates and visitors during emergencies or security concerns, including evacuations, first aid situations, and directing individuals to designated safe areas.
  • Maintains accurate and detailed security reports, incident logs, and documentation of security-related incidents and activities.
  • Promotes, monitors, and enforces safe work practices and a safe work environment by monitoring and testing alarm systems, fire systems, and fire suppression equipment to ensure proper operation.
  • Conducts security inspections of buildings, grounds, and trailers.
  • Monitors inbound and outbound trailers entering and exiting the facility using designated computer applications.
  • Reports unusual or suspicious activity to appropriate management.
  • Creates and issues new and replacement associate badges, as well as visitor badges.
  • Complies with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans, utilizing the Open Door Policy, and applying these standards when executing business processes and practices.
  • Completes work assignments and priorities by utilizing policies, data, and resources; collaborating with managers, coworkers, customers, and other business partners; identifying priorities, deadlines, and expectations; carrying out assigned tasks; communicating progress and relevant information; recommending ways to address improvement opportunities; and adapting to and learning from change, challenges, and feedback.
