As a Security Armed Officer Charter School Part Time Armed Response in Bronx, NY, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you. This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.
Requirements
- Possess a concealed carry weapons permit.
- Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
- Have 2 or more years of law enforcement, military, and/or corrections experience or a college degree.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

- Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and/or faculty by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an educational location.
- Respond to incidents, critical situations, and/or alarms in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting security-related concerns to site leadership and Allied Universal management.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout campus buildings, parking areas, and perimeter locations, remaining aware of unusual activity and helping to deter unauthorized access and/or disruptive behavior.
- Monitor entry and exit points, verify authorized access when required, and support visitor management practices in accordance with site-specific protocols and applicable post orders.
- Assist with emergency and after-hours situations, provide clear communication during medical, behavioral, and/or security-related events, and support a professional presence across varying environments and conditions.
