About The Position

HII Mission Technologies is seeking a Senior Industrial Security Analyst (ISA 3) to support the Mission Technologies Home Office in Virginia. The position is dedicated primarily to investigations, with secondary responsibilities in physical security, helping improve operational responsiveness across the Tidewater region. The analyst supports investigations by conducting on-site interviews, monitoring background-investigation platforms, initiating investigations for unique or security-related cases, assisting with two-person interviews and in-person terminations when needed, and conducting security investigations. The role also supports counterintelligence and physical-threat needs at Mission Technologies events, provides rapid on-site response to urgent security needs, and audits employee background investigations to check that Talent Acquisition processes meet security requirements. The position also strengthens regional physical-security operations. Duties include maintaining an inventory of equipment and spare parts, managing storage and movement of materials through the Suffolk warehouse, troubleshooting system issues at regional sites, maintaining equipment and UPS systems, supporting locks on security-installed systems, and responding quickly to on-site issues. The role requires an active U.S. Government Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship. Work is performed in an office environment, with travel to local Tidewater-area sites. Physical performance requires adequate visual acuity and manual dexterity for the discipline’s requirements.

Requirements

  • At least 6 years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree in a related field; or 4 years with a master’s degree in a related field; or 10 years with a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Active U.S. Government Secret security clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship.
  • Experience providing investigative support, preferably to a U.S. Government agency or as a state or local police officer or agent of an official investigative agency.
  • Experience providing physical, on-site security, preferably on a U.S. Government site or military installation, directly or through a contractor.
  • Adequate visual acuity and manual dexterity to meet the requirements of the discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site investigative interviews at the shipyard.
  • Monitor First Advantage, HireRight Employee, and HireRight Vendor background-investigation platforms and provide timely status checks.
  • Initiate background investigations in HireRight Vendor for unique or security-related cases.
  • Support two-person investigative interviews when required for due process and documentation integrity.
  • Assist with in-person terminations when on-site investigative or security presence is needed.
  • Support counterintelligence and physical-threat needs for Mission Technologies events, including Defense Tech Live, Sea Air Space, and emerging MT-sponsored engagements.
  • Participate in Board of Directors meeting support when feasible, limiting involvement to meeting coverage rather than transportation assistance if NNS raises concerns.
  • Respond rapidly on site to emergent security needs, such as temporary guard coverage, until contracted services are in place.
  • Audit employee background investigations periodically to confirm Talent Acquisition processes align with security requirements and maintain continuous productivity.
  • Conduct security investigations, on site when necessary.
  • Maintain a regional inventory of physical-security equipment and spare parts.
  • Manage safe storage and logistical movement of materials through the Suffolk warehouse.
  • Provide on-site troubleshooting support for system issues at regional locations.
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance, including battery changes and system testing required by DCSA for CU2050 sites.
  • Manage regional UPS replacement and maintenance.
  • Support installation and maintenance of locks for security-installed systems.
  • Provide rapid-response on-site troubleshooting to reduce service-call costs and accelerate issue resolution.
