About The Position

The Securities & Derivatives Group Manager is a senior management-level position responsible for managing a team or department to process orders and transactions originating from trading desks and branch offices, in coordination with Operations - Transaction Services. The overall objective is to ensure seamless delivery of securities and derivatives transactions.

Within Markets Operations’ Margin & Collateral Optimization group, the role supports the development of products and services, strategic initiatives, and the transformation of margin and collateral capabilities. The successful candidate will help develop products and services aligned with the target operating model, promote collaboration across business and functional groups, design robust processes, and implement new platforms.

Requirements

• 10+ years of relevant experience.
• In-depth understanding of opportunities in financial services and significant experience in Capital Markets and Margin & Collateral Operations.
• Demonstrated success coordinating with senior leadership and managing others.
• Proven ability to manage concurrent activities and projects in a high-risk environment.
• Effective project management and negotiation skills.
• Clear and concise written and verbal communication.

Nice To Haves

• Senior-to-advanced-level experience in a related role, with commensurate experience in people management.
• Management experience with banking and financial institutions.

Responsibilities

• Manage a complex, critical, large professional disciplinary area within securities or derivatives, including short- to medium-term planning of actions and resources and control over resources, budget, policy formulation, and planning.
• Serve as an analytical and/or procedural expert.
• Manage complex and variable issues, liaise with multiple teams and departments, define problems, develop innovative solutions, streamline processes, and lead change-the-bank settlement projects.
• Follow industry trends, identify cost-saving opportunities, and build effective relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
• Increase productivity and efficiencies by presenting data and analyzing results to develop solutions, while overseeing the integrity of processes, operations, and outcomes.
• Assist with oversight of the risk control environment and compliance with policies and procedures, and keep abreast of Citi's operational processes and business strategy best practices.
• Filter, prioritize, and validate potentially complex material from multiple sources.
• Advise and coach new or junior-level staff on procedures and work processes across multiple departments.
• Assess risk in business decisions, protect the firm's reputation and assets, drive compliance with applicable laws, rules, regulations, and policies, exercise sound ethical judgment, and escalate, manage, and report control issues transparently.
• Effectively supervise others and create accountability for maintaining required standards.
