About The Position

The RSI Group (SmartCap) is the leading manufacturer, supplier, and seller of pickup truck caps and associated accessories in more than 30 countries globally. RSI’s flagship, patented product is the SmartCap®, the world’s first flat-packable truck cap system, made of durable stainless steel and capable of customization to fit every customer’s specific interests and needs. Leads daily accessories assembly activities by coordinating work assignments, supporting team members, and ensuring parts, components, and subassemblies are completed according to work instructions, drawings, specifications, and quality standards. Performs hands-on assembly work while guiding assemblers, monitoring production flow, identifying issues, communicating priorities, and supporting safety, quality, training, productivity, and continuous improvement expectations.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience performing assembly, fabrication, manufacturing, or production work.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow work instructions, meet quality expectations, and work safely in a production environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior lead, trainer, senior assembler, or informal team coordination experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, fixtures, measuring devices, production equipment, and basic production reporting systems.
  • Ability to read drawings, work instructions, bills of material, and product specifications.
  • Experience training team members, communicating priorities, and supporting continuous improvement activities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the team in reading, understanding, and following work instructions, drawings, bills of material, and standard operating procedures.
  • Perform and support accessories assembly work while verifying fit, alignment, hardware, workmanship, and completeness before release to the next operation.
  • Identify, document, escalate, and help resolve defective parts, incorrect materials, missing components, rework needs, or process concerns.
  • Coordinate daily assembly assignments, priorities, staffing flow, materials, tools, and work area readiness to meet production schedules.
  • Monitor work progress, production counts, bottlenecks, shortages, and rework; communicate issues and recommended actions to supervision.
  • Set the pace for the assembly team by balancing hands-on production work with coaching, direction, and follow-up.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and warehouse best practices.
  • Organize warehouse storage areas to maximize efficiency and maintain a clean work environment.
