About The Position

New Paradigm for Education, Inc. is seeking Secondary Teachers for Humanities to develop and sustain academic-focused humanities instruction in secondary school grades. This role requires a strong understanding of pedagogy and deep content expertise in areas such as mathematics, science, English language arts, social studies, foreign language, or fine arts. The teacher will be responsible for writing and implementing lesson plans based on the school's curriculum, incorporating feedback, and using student progress data to inform instructional decisions. Collaboration with colleagues, development of family-school relationships, and community engagement are also key aspects of this position. Other ancillary duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education, English, Social Studies, Foreign Language, ESL, or a related field of study; equivalent foreign degree accepted.
  • Valid State of Michigan teaching license.
  • One (1) year of experience in the position above or in a related education role.
  • Experience in Teaching Instruction and Methodology.
  • Experience in Classroom Management.
  • Experience in Student progress assessments.
  • Experience in Curriculum development.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and sustain academic focused humanities instruction in the secondary school grades.
  • Process and implement knowledge of pedagogy and deep content expertise in one or more of the following areas: mathematics, science, English language arts, social studies, foreign language, or fine arts (music, physical education, visual arts, etc.).
  • Write and implement lesson plans grounded in our curriculum, regularly incorporating constructive feedback.
  • Keep and use up-to-date data to monitor student progress and drive instructional choices.
  • Solicit and utilize constructive feedback received from administrators and instructional coaches.
  • Work in teams to plan, problem solve, and support one another on a daily basis.
  • Develop family-school relationships that foster the academic and social development of the child.
  • Encourage parents/guardians to participate in the daily life of the school and reach out to families in their homes through training, parent nights, conferences, and telephone contact and through technology.
  • Establish connections and relationships among their students and the larger community that support the academic and social development of the child and contribute to achievement of overall school goals.
  • Perform other ancillary duties as needed or assigned.
